Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by: J. K. Rowling is a fantastic book.  It is the first book of the Harry Potter series.  It's about a boy named Harry who finds out he is a wizard and that his parents were wizards.  He makes two new friends in Ron and Hermione. Hermione is my favorite character.  He plays Quidditch as the seeker.  He fights a troll. He fights Voldemort for the first time.  I absolutely love this book.  The whole Harry Potter series is the best.  It is full of suspense and friendship. You can easily become addicted to the series. 

The Salem Witch Tryouts

The Salem Witch Tryouts written by Kelly McClymer is a good read.  It is about a girl named Prudence who is one of the most popular girls in her high school. She is about to become head cheerleader and she has lots of great friends. Her parents tell her one night that they are moving across the country to Salem. She is not very happy about that. She thinks she will be able to try out for the cheer leading squad and she will be popular again immediately, but it turns out she is going to a witch school and everything including cheer leading is different.

Nightwood

Nightwood is a horror book written by Patricia Windsor. It is a gripping and very intriguing book. It is about three girls who are supposed to be on a class trip. They instead sneak off and stay in a cabin in Delonga in the woods. No one knows they are there. They meet up with some boys on the other side of the lake. They go for a walk they discover a body. This is just one of many odd things that have been happening in Delonga. The girls run back to the cabin, but they soon find out nowhere is safe.

The Book of Spells

The Book of Spells is a good book written by Kate Brian. It is set in the year 1915.  It is kind of slow starting out, but it starts getting very intriguing the more you get into it. The main characters name is Eliza. She is very excited to go to Billings school for girls. She is desperate to get away from her very strict mother. Her sister went there the previous year and came back engaged. Eliza is determined not to even give the boys from the school next door a second glance.  Or is she? This book is filled with excitement, romance, and a touch of sadness. It is a prequel to the Private series. Oh by the way the girls at Billings are.....witches.

High Maintenance

This is Miranda Cosgrove's newest CD High Maintenance. My favorite song on here is Dancing Crazy. Avril Lavigne co-wrote Dancing Crazy. High Maintenance is a duet with Miranda Cosgrove and Rivers Cuomo. She has a really cool music video for her song Dancing Crazy.

The Last Song

The Last Song by: Nicholas Sparks is a sad but very entertaining story about a girl named Ronnie. Her dad had abandoned her, her mom, and her brother Jonah. She stopped talking to him for three years. She becomes a rebellious teen with a purple streak down her hair, dark clothes, and black fingernail polish. Ronnie and Jonah are being sent to stay with their father over the summer. Ronnie is not happy about it.   This book is full of things from romance to sad endings and heartbreak. I enjoyed reading this book.

Suddely Supernatural

Suddenly Supernatural by: Elizabeth Cody Kimmel is a series of books. They are about a girl named Kat whose mother is a medium.  Mediums are people who can communicate with the dead.  One day Kat discovers she is a medium too.  Her and her friend Jac have to help spirits cross over successfully. There are four books in the series.

Goodbye Lullaby

This is Avril Lavigne's new CD.  It is a little different from her other CDs. It is a bit darker. My favorite songs on it are "Wish You Were Here" and "Push". The song "Black Star" was a bit disappointing. It was very short and not very much of a song. She has a music video for 2 of the songs on this CD.

Tuck Everlasting

Have you ever thought about what it would be like to live forever? Some people would say that living forever would be great, but people who have read this book would probably say other wise. This is a tale about a family who will live forever and a little girl who discovers their secret. It is a sad, but entertaining book.

The School for Dangerous Girls

The School for Dangerous Girls is a very exciting book. Its a book about a girl named Angie who gets in some trouble. Her boyfriend Trevor is no help. Finally, her parents send her to Hidden Oak. It's supposed to be a school that will help troubled girls, but in some ways it makes them worse. They do try to help some of the girls, but what happens to the others? It is impossible to put down.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

I got the new Harry Potter movie.  They got most of the parts out of the book right, but there were still some scenes I was not happy with. For instance, they left a major scene with Lupin out. They did the part where Bellatrix tortures Hermione differently. I did like the part where Harry and Hermione dance together after Ron leaves. I actually wish that was in the book. All in all it was a great movie.

100 Cupboards

I have recently finished reading the book 100 Cupboards by: N. D. Wilson. This book has a some what dull beginning and end, but the middle portion of this book is filled with suspense. It will keep you on your toes, but reader beware this book requires full focus or you will got lost in what is going on in the end. If you chose to read this book pay close attention to what is going on.  It is about a boy who comes to live with his aunt and uncle and finds cupboards behind the plaster in his wall. The cupboards lead to different worlds, but they also lead to trouble.
